"Their application process is broken"
Their application process is broken - if you're lucky enough to actually use it on a PC/Laptop. I ended up doing all my process through the phone, since I kept getting error messages on any other device. I also dealt with getting auto logged out when writing about my experience, which meant I lost a lot of information because I couldn't save my progress. I had to keep saving every 3 minutes, AFTER I wrote 100 words. You can't save your progress until 100 words are written in the description, so better write quickly and save - if not, you'll get booted and need to relog only to see everything disappeared. Customer service chat isn't helpful and the live chat doesn't work. For an organization that prides itself on Project management, whoever managed their website project clearly failed quality testing or thought that having PMP applicants submit through their phones was better??? If this wasn't the ONLY way to get the PMP, I would have already gone to another service. Got to love being a monopoly for a certification process - you can be poor at your job because there is no competition or alternative.

"Worst customer service and lead times"
Takes them a week to generate a quote to pay and take the exam? Not to mention the time you spend applying and waiting for their response.

Customer support just lies to your face and says to wait just a half hour for days on end. After that experience why give them money....

"The Power of Leverage Resides with PMI"

"I had a good experience with PMI"
I had a good experience with PMI. I wrote my PMP with Person Vue online through PMI. I have received my certificate of completion with PMI. I found the process to be easy and I would recommend this Institute.

"Absolutely would not recommend"
Absolutely would not recommend. I took the DASM course, paying hundreds of dollars. At the end of the course, they required me to email a DASM certification email address to request the link to schedule the exam. They give you 60 days to do this. I emailed right away. No answer over a month later. I tried calling, emailing, chatting, and texting their "text" number. Every individual said they "put in a ticket, please allow 2-3 business days for a response". A month later. I am out almost $500. No link to sign up for the exam. I requested my money back....guess what? no response to that either. NEVER use this company. Something as simple as sending a link, which should have been provided at the end of the course, is just too much for them to do.

"Great Accrediting and Certificating Body, but horrible Customer Service and policies in regards to their Exam Pass"
For reasons obvious to everyone, PMI offers some of the best certifications in the industry. This review is not about the PMP or CAPM certification but their horrible customer care department.

Although the word "Care" is in their customer service department name, they care only about their profit margin than you, the customer. I purchased an Exam Pass or voucher, assuming I could use it for 12 months, similar to other certification entities. This is standard practice. However, PMI links your pass expiration date to the cert eligibility application, which means that you first apply at any date to see if you eligible for CAPM. This is very problematic because you may have applied for the eligibility 12 months ago, and as soon as your purchase the voucher, it will be forfeited, and you have to buy another one because guess what? Your eligibility just ended. It makes zero sense. What about a warning while I am paying for the Pass?

I tried to explain this issue to the tone-deaf customer service that the purchase system did not even warn me that I had one month left to use my Pass. I just bought the Pass, and it expired after a month because I applied for my eligibility when I purchased my PMI membership 2 years ago. The least they can do is to warn you at the moment of purchase. Hey Customer! You have this amount of days or months left to use this. So pay attention to this date before purchasing. Maybe renew your eligibility first.

Their customer service not only inflexible, but they are also insulting. Considering we are in a pandemic, $225 does not grow on a tree in this day and age. Now I have to pay 450 dollars in a matter of 6 months for the same exam.

Update 11/13/2021:

After two dozen emails back and forth them, their Membership Services department helped me by issuing a refund for the exam forfeited a month after I purchased it. In hindsight, maybe I should've contacted the member services in the first place. At times the communication got very confusing because I was discussing and arguing with 3-4 departments.

Half of their customer service personnel were emphatic and tried to help me, but the other half constantly gave me a lecture about my duty to know the purchase terms. I think both them and I have valid points to make, and I was trying to communicate that, but I am unsure if any of my issues got through.

I am updating my stars from 2 to 4 just because they never stopped communicating and ended up resolving my case.

"Avoid. Terrible experience"
Avoid. Been waiting 3 months for access to correct materials but still don't have access. I chase them daily/weekly and every time I get false promises that it will be sorted and it is being "investigated". Every excuse they give I provide them with information or evidence and still nothing happens. On each call they tell me that I have provided what they need and it will be sorted within 2-3 days. Escalations mean nothing, I am apparently at the highest point of escalation but I might as well be at the lowest. Not one to complain usually but it is absolutely beyond a joke. Awful.

"Like thousands of others"
Like thousands of others, I've been scammed out of my money for a PMI Certification test by the testing monopoly they require candidates to use; Pearson Vue. I've done everything humanly possible to try to get a reschedule or refund from Pearson Vue but they're sticking to their guns that I have to contact PMI.

PMI is not responding to me. I am a card carrying member and I cannot even get someone on the phone to address this. Emailed customer service, no response. Tried calling support; wait time starts at "Greater than 40 minutes" and never go down. Tried Live-Chat; no one responds.

If Pearson VUE cannot keep up with the high volume of online tests due to COVID, they need to stop scheduling them. If Pearson VUE is stealing hundreds off dollars from PMI Members, PMI needs to do SOMETHING about it.

The only reason I'm not giving this a lower rating is because I'm a paying member of this organization and there is still a chance for them to make this right.
